fresno bands on tour! 08/10/2011

Some of you may not know but local bands victimless crime, grow, and blackwater have been on a two week tour that has led them up into Canada. As of right now they're heading back down home to fresno playing shows along the way. A total of 14 days and 11 shows together.

Tour highlights have been playing both the Van Isles Hardcore fest on the island of Victoria in Canada as well Campbell River, which is also on the island. Here are some of the best videos thus far of all three playing.

All the bands are coming home with shirts, new cds, and patches/button, so check them out when they play their next local show.

blackwater is the only band that is keeping their blog active while away so check that out as well their flickr for photos from tour!

Red Son 07/19/2011

So many people may not know who Where Eagles Dare was but here is some information about them, they ruled. Always good vibes, circle pits, and that's enough to make a show memorable.

This Wednesday the singer of WED will return with his new band Red Son that has a very similar feeling of just fast pace, straight forward, fun hardcore punk music. Check them out.

Caulfield back in Fresno 06/26/2011

Bow your heads and hang low as Caulfield once again drowns out your brain with heavy music. Listen to them here if you haven't already.

The show cost is just a donation. We know summer has a lot of good shows and don't want to strain your wallet. Anything helps them get home as this is their last day of tour before they head home.

Former Selves - Fait Accompli 06/18/2011

Paul Skomsvold (Former Selves) is no stranger to CYC. He was once a volunteer and has performed one of the coolest sets at CYC this past April. After moving from Fresno to Berkeley after attending Fresno State he really began to expand his music writing and has released a few tapes as Former Selves.

He just released a DVD "fait accompli", which features 8 songs accompanied by some visual eye candy which hypnotizes the mind and is quite relaxing. Check out below the intro for the"fait accompli" DVD.

You can check out his tunes on his bandcamp & buy his new DVD, "fait accompli" on the Bridgetown Records website.

Also, Kevin Greenspon (who performed with FS this past April) has put together a Summer Mixtape that showcases music from all of the artists in his summer batch.  It can be downloaded for free here.
